I was born Ronald A. Chapin in Miami, Florida on February 17th 1933. However, when addressed, I prefer "Ron". I lived there, and went to school there until I graduated from Miami Jackson High School, and in 1950, I decided I'd go in the Army. During my Army career, I went to Korea during the war, The Phillipines, Germany twice, and Viet Nam Again, during the war. You could say I've participated in two wars that this country was involved in, neither one of which did we win!. On one very short tour of duty at Ft. Gordon, Georgia I met and married my bride of 40 years. We have one son, 35, and he and his wife live in Virginia. I took up 18 wheel driving, and did that until March of 1997 when I retired. During the driving time between 1970 and 1996, I drove across country many times, and have been in every state in the union, except Alaska.
